About Dr. Silas

Dr. Megan Silas is an oculoplastic surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist practicing at the Williams Eye Institute and the University of Chicago.
Dr. Silas is a Chicagoland native who grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Since childhood, she has always dreamt of being a surgeon, telling her parents she wanted to be a brain surgeon when she was 8 years old. With that dream in mind, Megan worked hard throughout grade school and high-school, culminating in her selection as Valedictorian for Deerfield High School.
She attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign College of Engineering for her undergraduate education, where she studied Bioengineering and Chemistry, and graduated with highest honors in the top 3% of her graduating class. She then went to the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine on a merit-based scholarship.
